The team behind renowned Hideki in Brisbane's Burnett Lane, are excited to be searching for a Head Chef to lead the team at their new James Street location - opening late April. The position offers an opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in the latest and exciting Japanese restaurant in Brisbane.

Hideki is aiming to be an award winner in the Brisbane hospitality scene. Developing an innovative Japanese-inspired cuisine and commitment to exceptional customer service. What you'll be doing - 

Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of high-quality dishes in line with our restaurant's cuisine and standards

Collaborating with your team to develop new and innovative menu items

Ensuring consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment

Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

Providing mentorship and training to junior kitchen staff

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Executive Chef
Head Chef
Sous chef

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Head Chef in a reputable hospitality establishment

Formal culinary qualification or training (e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery)

Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and presentation

Excellent time management, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well under pressure

Good communication and customer service skills

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Induction/onboarding required prior to starting role
